ALLOCATION UPDATE

22nd FEBRUARY 1999

£293,000 ALLOCATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ROADS IN DUNBOYNE !

At last some good news for Dunboyne.

At our meeting with Councillors on 3/2/99 when it was announced that out of a £1.56m non national roads allocations to Meath, Dunboyne was to get NOTHING ! our committee left the Councillors in no doubt about our outrage and promised to make this a major issue in the local elections.

By Friday night last 19/2/99 we had been contacted by both Cllr. Brian Fitzgerald and Cllr. Oliver Brooks announcing the £293,000 allocations mentioned above.

£221,000 has been allocated for the restoration and upgrading of the Dunboyne / Navan Road from the Industrial Estate to Dunboyne Village.

£72,000 has been allocated to carry out road repairs from Loughsallagh Cross to Dunboyne Village.

We welcome this news wholeheartedly and thanks to our local representatives for making our case.
