1,500 support Dunboyne protest

"More than 1,500 residents of the village of have written to Meath County Council to protest at proposed destruction of our green belt and that the Dunboyne Castle and grounds be developed as a public park for amenity, tourist, community and leisure purposes," according to a statement this week from the Dunboyne Combined Residents Association.

"Now, our representatives, our six area county councillers, who have proposed that our green belt be destroyed, know the will of the people of Dunboyne. They can now represent us fully, confident that they can honourably and responsibly exercise their democratic duty on behalf of our community, the statement adds.

" D.C.R.A has made an informed and convincing case. The residents of the village have clearly spoken. It is now up to our six representatives to show that democracy works.
